1. Who we are

MarginMate is a food cost calculation tool for restaurant and hospitality professionals. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with GDPR (EU) 2016/679.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: Email address and encrypted password when you sign up.
• Usage data: Recipes, ingredients, and prices you enter into the tool.
• Payment data: Handled by Stripe. We store only a Stripe customer ID. We never see your card details.
• Analytics: Anonymous page views via Vercel Analytics. No cookies, no personal data.

3. How we use your data

• To provide and operate the MarginMate service.
• To process payments via Stripe.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing).
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.

4. Data storage

Your data is stored in Supabase on servers within the European Union. Payment data is stored by Stripe (GDPR compliant).

5. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To request data deletion, email us at privacy@marginmate.io.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use only session cookies required for authentication. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
